Moving can
be a very stressful, emotional and exhausting time. Having someone
welcome you with a smiling face and a hand of friendship can make all
the difference. That is what our club is all about. We are simply here
to offer you our friendship and to help make your transition into our
community as pleasant as possible. All of us were once newcomers
ourselves so we really do understand all that you are going through. We
joined the Tiftonite Newcomers' Club and found the friendliest and most
helpful group of people we have ever met. We hope you will come join us
too. |

Our monthly meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the second Thursday of each
month at the Betty Jo Roach United Way Community Center, 211 W. Fourth
St., behind the Post Office. Occasionally, we meet at other attractions
of interest to newcomers, such as the Tift Theatre and Georgia
Agrirama. We also meet at 9:00 AM every Wednesday morning for coffee
and socializing at the Coffee Corner on the corner of Love Ave. and
Second St. If the Coffee Corner is closed for any reason, we meet at
MiLady Bakery on Brumby Way, off Tift Avenue near Second Street. The
Club’s purpose is to encourage acceptance of newcomers and to
help them adjust to their new surroundings and become a part of the
community.
